Whenever you are carrying out this manoeuvre it is important to keep the car moving SLOWLY.
This is achieved by good clutch control.
Remember! It is easier to be accurate during your manoeuvres when you have the car moving slowly, as this allows you more time to position the car, and to make any necessary adjustments.
When coming to a halt, the way to get a smooth stop and prevent that lurch forward at the end, is simple.
Just before the car comes to rest, ease the pressure on the brake pedal. Don’t release it completely, just enough to prevent the front of the car dipping down.

I am often asked “How often should I check my mirrors?”
The answer is prior to any change in speed or direction, or every 5 – 10 seconds if you are travelling along a road at a constant speed.
It is important to know what is happening all around you, so that you are aware of the effect of your actions are likely to have on other road users.
Always drive to arrive safely. Happy motoring.
